Finding scholarly articles online: Internet Archive Scholar and Google Scholar

The Internet Archive Scholar is a new resource for you to use when searching for scholarly information. It includes over 25 million digitized research articles that have been preserved by the Internet Archive and its ongoing scans of information online.  It brings together historical materials along with more current open access publications that may be hard to access elsewhere.  A fuller explanation of Internet Archive Scholar is available in this Internet Archive blog post.

You may have used Google Scholar in the past, and this is an opportunity to remind you about this resource and how it works.  The reach of Google Scholar is much larger than that of Internet Archive Scholar, but not everything is available in full-text.  And some of the full-text access is only available to you through licensed materials that Miami University Libraries and OhioLINK subscribe to.  You can watch our Two Minute Tutorial on Google Scholar for more information on using this tool.

Both of these resources are now linked on the library's Google Scholar tab for your easy access.  And don't forget, in addition to these free resources, you also have access to Miami University Libraries' Articles & More search and the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center to find scholarly information.  Happy searching, and happier finding!
