on a group project, a caffeine boost, or some relaxing downtime, the library has you covered. All this week the library will have coffee, hot tea and lemonade available to help you stay alert during your exams.  And if you need a break, stop by STAR Lounge 1 and play a few games on the Wii.

As a special bonus to help everyone relax, Tuesday, May 7th from 12 - 2, we will be having some of the dogs in from PAWS to spread some cheer.  Why not stop by and say hello to our furry friends?

This Week's PAWS Highlight is McFly

McFly is a big sweet cuddlebug. He is very laid back and doesn't ask for much, just someone to love him! You can find out more about McFly and other PAWS cats on their website.

Also, Don't miss out on your chance to sign up for PAWS’ GOLF OUTING!

Here’s a great opportunity to help PAWS and have a great time doing it! PAWS annual Golf Outing will take place Monday, Aug. 20 at Wildwood Golf Club, 601 Aberdeen Dr., Middletown, Ohio.

This 18-hole, shotgun, scramble event will include box lunches, a buffet dinner at the golf course, beer and beverages all day and a kennel full of prizes.  We are seeking 72 golfers as well as tee and hole sponsors. Cost to play is $125 per player. Sign up as a team or individual to play.  Tee Sponsorship is $100 and Hole Sponsorship is $50.

The PAWS Golf Committee is also seeking prizes and volunteers, so if you are interested in playing or can help in some other way, please email Ginger Shawver at director@pawsadoptioncenter.org.

This week's PAWS highlight is Brox

Brox is a Boxer mix that loves agility and running around in the big yard, but he is content to lay at your feet as well. He gets along with most of the other dogs at PAWS. He has had time in a home. Brox will need a owner that will give him lots of exercise. Go spend some time with Brox and see what a great dog he can be!

This Week's PAWS Highlight is Trumen

You like big dogs? Trumen is your guy. You want a dog that loves to fetch? Trumen is your guy. You want a dog that just loves to be with you? Trumen is your guy. He is a beautiful golden mix. Full of energy. He would be great for an active person. He loves to run and play.

PAWS Highlight for Thursday is Darby

Darby is a 4 month old Border Collie mix.  He loves playing with other dogs and would make a great family pet.  You can find out more about Darby by visiting the PAWS website or checking out his profile.

PAWS highlight for Thursday is Bub

Today we highlight one of PAWS young dogs, Bub. Bub is one of the sweetest German Shepherd dogs. He loves the water, and playing ball. He is going to be a big boy and will need room to run. He needs someone that is going to put the time in to train and exercise him.

Thanks for the PAWS support

We would like to thank everyone for their support of our Pause for PAWS program.  This week marks the end of our program and we went out with a bang on Tuesday at the Hot Diggity Dog Day.  Thanks to C.I.V.I.C for letting the library work with them to bring a whole crew of PAWS animals to greet everyone.  We will continue to highlight PAWS animals throughout the rest of the summer on both our blog and Facebook page, so keep an eye out for pictures and information about the great dogs and cats that are available for adoption.  Also, remember to check out pawsadoptioncenter.org for more information about any of the animals or to make a donation to this great organization.  Once again, thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet the dogs, play with them and make our program a success.

Tuesday's Pause for PAWS guest is Isabella

This week we will only be having one Pause for PAWS visitor so we brought one of our sweetest girls, Isabella. Isabella is a 1 ½ year old Terrier mix. She loves to spend her time playing with the other dogs or sitting in your lap and giving you kisses.

Thursday's Pause for PAWS guest is Walter

Walter is a 3 year old Shepherd mix. He is a great dog with kids and loves attention.

Come visit Walter in the library between 1pm and 5pm today.

Tuesday's Pause for PAWS guest is Champ

Today's Pause for PAWS visitor is Champ. Champ is a Labrador Retriever/ Border Collie Mix.  He loves to play fetch and jump around in the pool.

Thursday Pause for PAWS visitor is Simon

Today's Pause for PAWS visitor is Simon.  Simon is a Lab mix and is about 3 - 4 years old.  He is a very gentle and kind dog that likes to follow you around and relax by your feet. 

Come meet Simon in the library between 1pm - 6pm today. 

Tuesday's Pause for PAWS guest is Kyle

Kyle is a short hair gray tabby kitten that wants nothing more than to play with his feather toys and sit in your lap.  Come to the library and meet this delightfully playful cat.

Thursday's Pause for PAWS guest is Jessie

Jessie is a 2 year old German Shepherd mix.  Jessie had a rough start as one of 375 animals kept in a hoarding house.  Since coming to PAWS Jessie has slowly begun to come out of her shell.  She is still very shy with people, but she loves to play with the other dogs and hang out by the pool. You can stop by and see this sweet girl between 1pm and 5pm today.

If you want to see more PAWS dogs outside of our Pause for PAWS visits, there will be a fundraising event this Saturday from 2pm-6pm at Hanover Winery.  The next PAWS visitor will be here on Tuesday. 

Tuesday's Pause for PAWS visitor is Jake

Jake is a 2 1/2 year old lab/husky mix.  He enjoys running around the yard and playing fetch. Come meet Jake in the library today from 1pm - 5pm.  He would love to say hello.

Pause for PAWS visitor for Thursday is Shivers

Today's Pause for PAWS visitor is Shivers.  Shivers is a 1 year old Boxer mix.  He is a very loving and sweet dog.  Come visit Shivers in the library between 1pm and 6pm today.

Pause for PAWS Tuesday Guest is Charlie

Today's Pause for PAWS guest is Charlie. Charlie is a 1 1/2 year old boxer/lab mix who has never met a person, dog or cat he did not like. Charlie is great with children and would love to be part of your family.

Pause for PAWS

Gardner-Harvey Library is pleased to announce that this summer we will be working with PAWS Adoption Center* on our ‘Pause for PAWS’ program.

Pause for PAWS offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to take a break from the stress of their day to visit with some friendly shelter dogs.  Every Tuesday and Thursday from May 15th through July 26th, a PAWS dog will be in the library from 1pm to 5pm to spread their unique brand of love and cheer. Why not pause your day and stop by to say hello? It is sure to put a smile on your face.
